Aims
The MSc programme has been developed to provide those working in post-acute brain injury rehabilitation with an opportunity to obtain academic qualifications representative of their role and career aspirations. The degree scheme focuses on the science of brain injury; its cognitive and social implications, models of rehabilitation, methods of clinical intervention and research methods necessary to evaluate the outcome of clinical procedures. Lectures are delivered by clinical practitioners experienced in post acute brain injury rehabilitation. Students will be expected to demonstrate an application of knowledge acquired during lectures by completing work-based projects that will form a portfolio of practical work representing different stage of training. The scheme is open to a broad range of individuals who wish to pursue advanced training in this specialist area of rehabilitation.
Course Duration
Part-Time - Two Years. The programme is organized at three levels, each level requiring 60 credits for progression. Students will attend five, two or three day residential modules at both certificate and diploma level.
Admission Requirements
A first degree in any subject. Candidates without a first degree, should hold a minimum of 2 years relevant professional work experience. Students without degrees may need to demonstrate via essays that they have the academic ability to complete the first (certificate) stage of the scheme. All students enter at the Certificate level |
